Description of The Position
The Regional Compliance Officer is responsible of leading the strategy behind the implementation of compliance and privacy corporate frameworks, as well as the execution of strategic initiatives in coordination with the LAMEX Leadership Team. This person will maintain constant interaction with all areas of the organization, as well as with regional and corporate teams.
The candidate must demonstrate experience working with multidisciplinary teams not only in the commercial area but also in other divisions.
This position will be responsible for promoting the transformation and development of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the LAMEX leadership team to maintain the structure around the implementation of evolving compliance and privacy frameworks as well as enhance awareness on our Company’s Values and Standards, Corporate Policies and Compliance Policies, SOPs and Guidance in collaboration with Legal & Compliance.
- Serve as “guardian” of all business-related policies and procedures that include compliance controls in close collaboration with the Leadership Team.
- Taking a strong and active role in ensuring consistent and effective compliance standards in the organization meeting corporate and regional compliance goals.
- Provide guidance to Business Stakeholders on queries relating to the Code of Practice, Policies, and day to day business activities across the organization.
Manage implementation of changes, conduct review sessions with stakeholders, communicate on new and revised policies, processes, and procedures. Supporting internal investigations if needed (Compliance Issue Visibility and Response, local investigations into alleged Compliance breaches, etc.) - Present key compliance metrics, ensure commercial scorecard metrics are communicated and tracked. Drive implementation of the scorecard objectives. Contributing member; develop with Compliance Committee Charter and facilitation/coordination of meetings, agendas and minutes; helps business collect data and prepare documents needed; follow-up on meeting action steps; present metrics; escalates potential risks to the CCC; meets at least once/quarter.
- Establish culture to prevent issues, plan and lead the implementation of compliance projects, Work as a Change Agent to manage changes, may lead the Projects Review Committee. Ability to identify and analyze business needs and offer simple and simplified solutions to achieve objectives, in compliance with regulations and applicable compliance guidelines and good practices.
Acting as a Mexico market Business Practices Leader and being the Point of contact for all the compliance issues.
Required Education, Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree required: Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Economics, or other related careers. Master’s degree would be a plus.
- Not less than 5 years of previous experience and knowledge in Audits, Finance, Compliance, Legal.
Project Management knowledge and Commercial understanding. - Familiarity with compliance guidelines and data protection legislation.
- High ethical standards and integrity, being a role model.
- Mexico market compliance and regulations knowledge. CENCA experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of international guidelines and standards.
- MS Office: Outlook, Excel, Power Point.
- Languages: English 1 Advanced.
